Lazy Dragon was started in 1988 as Daw Enterprises by Ben and Benni Daw. The main focus was just doing local conventions. As convention revenue grew, a store was opened in Luling, La. in 1993 which is when the name change occurred. The original store was focused on gaming materials as well as swords and knives. With good success, the store was relocated in a mall in Marrero, La. Coastcon, Mobicon, S. A. G. A., Bayou Wars, Crescent City Con, New Orleans Sci-Fi Fantasy Festival, and others were among the regular conventions that Lazy Dragon attended as merchants. In 1998, David and Rita Keating entered the picture. A growth spurt allowed Lazy Dragon to increase to not just the store and conventions but to mail order through the Internet. The store was moved to Texas in late 1999 only to close in mid 2000, but the Internet sales and conventions still continue. Lazy Dragon does business through the internet and trade shows/conventions. Lazy Dragon does NOT have a store front at this time.
